I am a lifelong Stamford resident, raised here and educated in our public schools, and now proud to have my wife and I raise our three children in the same community. With nearly 30 years of running a local business and, before that, teaching 7th grade, I understand both the challenges and opportunities we face. I’ve been deeply involved in the community—working, volunteering, coaching, and supporting organizations that make Stamford thrive. The traits that guide my life—commitment, honesty, hard work, collaboration, active listening, and a focus on results and accountability—are essential for effective leadership. Our city deserves a representative who brings integrity and action to the table. That’s what I will deliver.
My top priority is ensuring the responsible oversight, allocation, and approval of the city’s annual budget, which is the foundation for addressing critical issues such as property taxes, school funding, public safety, infrastructure, and community development. The goal I would set during my term is to develop a clear, transparent fiscal strategy that maximizes the effective use of available funds, including securing and allocating state and federal grants. Over the past four years, our current Board of Representatives has turned away or squandered millions of dollars in state and federal funds with no clear agenda or alternative plan, only obstruction. These funds could have improved our city's infrastructure, renovated community centers, and upgraded senior living centers. Instead, as citizens counting on the Board of Reps to move our city forward, we got arguments and stagnation.
When deciding where to add apartments and townhomes, I would prioritize areas with existing infrastructure, access to public transportation, and proximity to employment hubs to promote sustainable development. I would actively seek the input and collaboration of transportation planners, school officials, and community members to ensure that roads, schools, and transit can handle growth. This includes making targeted investments in upgrading road capacity, school facilities (which we have to begin work on), and transit services before approving new developments. Ultimately, growth should protect and enhance our neighborhoods’ vibrancy and home values without compromising safety, convenience, or quality of life for residents. Both are possible.
To increase funding for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, I would explore new revenue streams within state and federal guidelines, and I also strongly support applying additional pressure on our state government to secure grants and funds to support this initiative. Unlike so many of our neighboring towns, I want Stamford to be a place where we support workforce housing- where our nurses, teachers, public safety and law enforcement personnel, healthcare workers, and childcare providers who work in Stamford can also afford to live in Stamford. To ensure fairness and transparency, I would advocate for clear guidelines and public oversight of how funds are distributed and used, making sure every dollar supports projects that truly benefit the community and those most in need.
