I'm an active listener and genuinely interested in residents’ concerns and feedback. These last few weeks of campaigning — knocking on doors and calling potential constituents — have broadened my understanding of what's essential to the residents of District 4. I plan to continue listening to my neighbors and make sure their concerns are heard. Furthermore, open Communication is key to keeping constituents informed about policies, votes, and developments. In my professional life, I'm a problem solver, and I'll look to address some of the biggest concerns I've heard while campaigning, such as housing, transportation, traffic, education, and public safety.
Our roads are overcrowded, and speeding in the Cove is a real public safety concern. We need more enforcement to hold those responsible accountable. I'll work with our police to increase enforcement of speeding and traffic violations.
After a year of community input and engagement, the 2035 Comprehensive Plan was passed unanimously by the Planning Board. This will be the 10-year vision plan that the Zoning and Planning boards will follow to address our pressing housing and infrastructure needs. The BOR does not have a role in choosing housing locations. I support a vibrant city and will work to make sure that I best represent the needs and concerns of district 4 residents and all of Stamford.
As a new board member, I will support efforts to find more ways to support affordable housing. The AHTF is an essential tool that can help fund more specialized housing, such as more 3-bedroom units and homeownership.
