My top priority is the safety and well-being of Stamford residents. I’m committed to improving traffic and pedestrian safety around Strawberry Hill School.
At this time, The Board of Representatives does not have any voting influence over the recently approved Master Plan however, we do have the ability to speak to our residents and obtain their feedback. Stamford is growing, and we need to make sure that growth works for both current and future residents. The residents I have spoken with want open space, pedestrian safety and a reduction in traffic.
If I was the decision maker, I would like to see housing added in all parts of Stamford- areas that are walkable, close to public transportation but also in areas that provide more open space. Regarding school capacity concerns, Stamford was awarded funding and is rebuilding or constructing entirely new facilities for Westhill High School, Roxbury Elementary School, and two new schools for the South Stamford East Side in a multi-year project that can be found here- https://www.spsbuilds.com/. Regarding our road, Stamford is currently undergoing an aggressive city wide repaving effort found here- https://www.stamfordct.gov/government/operations/road-maintenance/road-paving. As an elected representative serving for the past 4 years, I am confident we are preparing for future growth already.
The Board of Representatives doesn’t manage the Affordable Housing Trust Fund directly, but we play an important role in shaping how it works and holding it accountable. We can strengthen it by updating city ordinances to expand its funding sources like fees from large developments or partnerships with the private sector and by making sure residents can see exactly how every dollar is spent. As your Representative, I’ll continue to advocate for transparency, fair distribution, and real results so the Fund truly helps Stamford families find and keep affordable homes.
