My 40+ years of work in the financial services sector and assisting in the strategic and financial operations of a family-owned small business has enabled me to build the experience and skillset needed to professionally manage the Town Clerk office. Multiple account relationship and client portfolio management roles have prepared me to lead the office with a service orientated and resident-focused approach. A history of managing deal teams in complex financings that required coordinating numerous internal and external parties will allow me to utilize a collaborative approach both among staff and with other city departments as well. The experience gained from working with housing developers on their construction budgets along with the financial planning required of the family-owned small business will allow for a thoughtful and efficient annual budget management process.
As a result of Stamford voters’ relatively high rate of engagement in Early Voting and the two-step application and completion process involved in Absentee Voting (AB), we anticipate a relatively small increase in AB voting under the no-excuse absentee voting change. However, as Stamford’s Town Clerk, I will submit input into the final legislation for no excuse AB voting during the comment period and will seek available grants or additional resources to help offset any incremental costs associated with implementing no-excuse AB voting in our city.
I intend to establish a welcoming and accessible office for all residents whether they wish to handle their business in-person or online. Under my open-door policy, no appointment is necessary to come into the office. To further expand accessibility, I will explore ways to extend office hours one day a week, hold events at select libraries where residents can learn about the various services provided by the Town Clerk Office at which language translation services are offered, and add a translation option to the Town Clerk website.
